Introducing Huntsman Ready-to-Wear SPRING SUMMER '17
Huntsman’s ready-to-wear collection for Spring Summer ’17 offers clients a versatile and performance-driven selection for the warmer months As always, our Creative Director and Head Cutter Campbell Carey has designed our ready-to-wear tailoring to reflect our bespoke creations and to make dressing for any occasion as elegant and effortless as possible. Hand tailored in England, featuring our signature one-button silhouette, suiting remains the backbone of Spring Summer ‘17, cut in lightweight cloths that combine a traditional bespoke character with high-performance. A sophisticated starting point for clients is our navy and mid-grey sharkskin two-piece suits, both tailored in lightweight worsted with a smooth finish, these are designed to go anywhere and do anything in an elegant and understated fashion. Complementing these two pieces, we also have our signature navy tonic suit, refined for 2017. A key piece of the season, the design uses a 60% mohair cloth, which lends its strength, lightness and a clean-cut finish. Perfect for business with a pale striped shirt and tie, or with an open-collared poplin shirt for dinner or drinks in the evenings. All our suiting this season is cut with perfectly proportioned notched lapels and gently slanting flap pockets in deference to our bespoke house style. Trousers are cut with a flat front and side-adjusters as standard, with spare belt-loops to be swapped-in if preferred.
Weekend wear and tailored separates feature prominently in the collection, and Carey has introduced a number of timeless designs with a focus on high-performing natural fibres. Alongside our lightweight navy cashmere blazer, perfect for business or pleasure, we’ve introduced two sports coats in soft natural linen and a timeless shade of navy; each with notched lapels, twin-rear vents and pleated patch-and-flap pockets - a chic detail taken from the house’s archives. Our new navy 100% bamboo sports jacket uses a new bamboo cloth, performant and sustainable. Bamboo is a rare and precious fibre, which behaves like silk, is just as breathable and considerably more hard-wearing. The result is a unique jacket that performs brilliantly right through the season. Alongside staple shades of mid and pale grey, warm brown tones are very seasonal, so the collection includes a sumptuous Italian cream linen herringbone jacket, taupe Prince-of-Wales checked jacket and rich tobacco linen trousers for a seasonal nod to contemporary fashions.
Campbell revisited the trousers, focusing on naturally elegant cross-welt pocket trousers, perfect for pairing with blazers and sports coats. Cut in lightweight and luxurious cotton-cashmere twill for unbeatable softness, they feature a medium-high rise, contemporary leg and belt loops for a relaxed look. In ecru, camel and mid-blue they offer a refined colour palette that’s perfect for the warmer months. Like all our tailoring, they’re made in England using an exclusive pattern cut by our in-house bespoke team.
Huntsman is also proud to announce the launch of the new Huntsman shirt, as elegant and balanced as our signature one-button jacket cut. From collar and cuffs to buttons and fabric, consideration has been given to every detail. The result is a garment that is both a pleasure to wear, and to behold. In developing this new design, Huntsman Creative Director Campbell Carey has designed a shirt that complements the life and style of the modern gentleman: looking smart on the go, with or without a tie. He’s partly achieved that through the introduction of two floating collars, the Huntsman and Hammick, named after our legendary Head Cutter Colin Hammick. The shirts themselves are made from handpicked 100% Egyptian cotton, woven in Italy and hand-dyed in Europe. This quality fabric is super smooth and hardwearing, softening with each wash, while retaining a precise finish on collar and cuff. Blue and white poplin, Bengal stripe, mini check: there’s a design to suit every occasion, including an ultra-luxurious blue cashmere blend and a bib-front dinner shirt in white cotton Marcella weave. The Huntsman shirt represents a highly successful collaboration with Jermyn Street’s Turnbull & Asser whose incomparable shirt-making expertise has brilliantly brought our designs to life.
With all this in mind, the ready-to-wear collection is designed to provide elegant clothing that removes the effort from dressing to travel, as always. Alongside our linen separates for tropical climates, our signature mid-grey fresco two-piece suit is ideal for jet-setting with its high-twist fabrication and lightweight construction. You might also try our navy wool hopsack single-breasted jacket, paired with this season’s grey lightweight plainweave trousers. These are beautifully tailored pieces which look as fresh and flawless after a long-haul flight as they do when you first step onto the plane and together form the ideal capsule for a business trip. A testimony to the uncompromising craftsmanship and attention to detail that is so integral to our bespoke tailoring, Huntsman’s new season ready-to-wear collection offers an elegant, versatile and practical range of beautifully made menswear, which intends to make dressing for the warmer months considerably more simple and enjoyable for all our customers.
