Apprenticeship Opportunities at Huntsman

Huntsman is committed to preserving the artistry of bespoke tailoring and cultivating the next generation of master cutters and tailors. Whilst we do not currently have open apprenticeship positions, we encourage passionate and dedicated individuals to express their interest in the following specialisations for future opportunities.

Our Ideal Apprentice

We seek individuals who demonstrate:

  • A genuine passion for their chosen tailoring specialisation and a desire to build a lifelong career in the field.

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and unwavering attention to detail.

  • A dedication to learning from the ground up, embracing the foundations of bespoke garment creation.

  • Patience, meticulousness, numeracy skills and a strong work ethic.

Huntsman Apprenticeship Focus

  • Learn Huntsman's Bespoke Techniques:
    Master the skills and traditions that define our tailoring house.

  • Fabric Expertise:
    Develop an in-depth knowledge of fabrics, their properties, and appropriate applications.

  • The History and Heritage of Tailoring:
    Understand the rich legacy of craftsmanship you'll become a part of.

  • A Graduated Learning Path:
    Progress from foundational skills to independent garment creation under expert guidance.

  • Post-Apprenticeship Opportunity:
    Transition to our "improver" scheme, where you'll manage your own orders and build your client book.

Expressing Your Interest

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV): Highlight relevant skills or experience, particularly in hand-sewing, garment construction, or design.

  • Cover Letter: Express your passion, suitability, and career aspirations. Indicate your desired specialisation (coat-making, trouser-making, or cutting).

  • Portfolio (optional but highly encouraged): Include sketches, photographs of your work, and fabric samples.
